About theArtist
South Korean soprano Sarah Chae has performed in a diverse range of traditional and contemporary repertoires. Recent engagements include her 2025 role as Frasquita in Carmen at the Immling Festival. In 2024, she appeared as Lesbia in Bampton Classical Opera's L'isola d'Alcina and in the title role of Balfe's Satanella at the Erzgebirgische Theater in Germany, where she also made her debut as Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute.
In 2023, she sang Calloandra in the UK premiere of Salieri's La fiera di Venezia with Bampton Classical Opera and covered Violetta in La Traviata with Oxford Opera. Elsewhere, she has appeared as Vixen in The Cunning Little Vixen, Coraline in Turnage's Coraline at Staatstheater Saarbrücken, Musetta in La Bohème, and Lucia in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia at Hochschule für Musik Saar.
As a Young Artist with the National Opera Studio (NOS) in London, Sarah was cast by Welsh National Opera in scenes from Handel's Semele as Iris, Norina in Don Pasquale, Nanetta in Falstaff, and Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi. In partnership with Scottish Opera and NOS, she performed Mademoiselle Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor and Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos.
In 2025, Sarah was selected as a Samling Artist, joining the highly competitive UK-based programme renowned for its intensive mentorship, artistic development, and performance opportunities with leading musicians and coaches.
Concerts include performances as Soprano in F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Lobgesang and in Bach's Matthäus-Passion at the Stiftskirche St. Annual, where she regularly performs as part of her artistic portfolio.
